Plain-English summary. XiPlayer is a local media player. It does not require an account, does not include analytics, advertising SDKs or trackers, and it does not transmit your files or library data over the internet.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how XiPlayer ("XiPlayer", "we", "us") handles information when you use the XiPlayer application or visit xiplayer.com. By using the application or this website, you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect

From the app: none. XiPlayer does not collect personal data, account information, contacts, telemetry, or analytics. The app reads your media files locally on your device for playback only.

From the website: our hosting provider may keep short-lived access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

3. Why XiPlayer requests permissions

Storage / Media access - required to find and play the audio and video files on your device. XiPlayer never copies, moves, modifies, uploads or transmits your files.
Notifications - used only to display playback controls when audio is playing in the background.
Cast / network - used only when you tap the cast icon to send playback to a TV or external display.

4. Cookies & local storage

The website may store a small localStorage entry to remember your theme preference (light vs. dark). This is local to your browser and is never sent to a server. The app itself does not use cookies.

5. Children

XiPlayer is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. Because we don't collect data at all, there is nothing to delete, export, or correct.

6. Security

We aim to ship secure, well-tested releases. If you think you've found a security issue, please email security@xiplayer.com with steps to reproduce.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, surface the change in the application.

8. Disclaimer of affiliation

XiPlayer is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected in any way to the makers of any other media player, including but not limited to VLC, MX Player, KMPlayer, PotPlayer, Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, RealPlayer, iTunes, Apple Music, Winamp, Foobar2000, or any streaming service. All product names, logos, and brands are property of their respective owners.

References on this site or in the app to other player brands - if any - exist purely for descriptive comparison and do not imply any relationship between XiPlayer and those brands.
